In the busyness of everyday life, it’s easy to feel distant from Jesus. Between work, errands, responsibilities, and distractions, we often wait for a “quiet time” or church service to connect with Him. But the truth is, Jesus is not limited to sacred spaces or special moments—He’s present in the ordinary, waiting to meet us in the middle of our routines.
Start with Awareness Finding Jesus begins with a shift in perspective. He promised in Matthew 28:20, “I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” That means He’s present in traffic, in grocery store lines, during meetings, or when you're folding laundry. Start your day by inviting Him in: “Jesus, help me see You today.” That simple prayer can open your heart to recognize His presence in unexpected places.
Look for Him in People Jesus often shows up through the people around us. A kind word from a coworker, a child’s laughter, or a stranger’s smile can be moments of grace. When we slow down enough to really see others, we often see glimpses of God’s love, compassion, and joy reflected in them. Serving others, listening with empathy, or offering encouragement can also become holy moments where we meet Him.
Find Him in Small Acts You don’t need grand gestures to walk with Jesus. Washing dishes can become a moment of gratitude. Taking a walk can be a time of prayer. Offering forgiveness, choosing patience, or showing kindness in a stressful moment can all be acts of faith. When done with love, even the smallest actions become sacred.
Pause and Listen Throughout the day, take short pauses—just 30 seconds—to breathe, be still, and acknowledge God. Ask, “Lord, what are You saying to me right now?” You may not always get an answer immediately, but over time, you’ll begin to recognize His gentle voice in your thoughts, your surroundings, or even through Scripture brought to mind.
End with Gratitude At the end of the day, take a moment to reflect: Where did I see Jesus today? What did He teach me? Gratitude opens our hearts to see more clearly, and over time, it tunes our eyes to find Him more often.
Jesus is not far off—He’s right here, in the middle of it all. The more we look for Him, the more we’ll find that He’s been walking with us all along.
